In 1850, Désiré Petit sets up a business of furnishing fabrics in Paris . Together with his son, he founds in July 1872 a company that will create and edit fabrics for interior decoration for many generations to come. On 1st October 1891, the company moves in 23 rue du Mail, in Paris ’ 2nd Arrondissement, in a building specially designed “for the trade of fabrics”. The company is still based at this address to this date. During the Sixties, Edmond Petit starts dealing with stage-set fabrics and flame-retardant material.
Nowadays, Edmond Petit‘s collection is wide : velvets, lampas, damasks, prints, toiles … Our fabrics are woven from natural and first-grade fibers, as the quintessence of French fabric manufacturing. It is our pride to keep the original look and quality of our fabrics. Almost 600 exclusive references are available worldwide.
Since 1998, the company also distributes the illustrious Hamot collection, established in 1762. We keep and edit its most famous designs, among which the Madeleine Castaing collection.
